Chillin´ like a Villin´
Yes!
Its true!
I have once again broken the foul bonds of conformity...
A slave no longer, the monotony that was once my life has been hastily flushed down the drain in exchange for sandy beaches, hammocks, bus rides, cheap food, cheap rent, and cheap beers.
Adventure!
Indeed, much like Indiana Jones before me, I have decided to take a road less traveled...
Granted there are no evil Nazi plots for me to foil, no dames in destress to rescue, and (as of yet) no snake pits.
I have, however, braved many a on-board bus washroom, had a few death matches with some ferocious looking bugs, and even had a near death experience (probably) with altitude sickness...
Enjoying it all though. So far we´ve (the old lady and I) have been at it for a month, traveling the west coast of Mexico, down to Guatemala. Climbed a volcano the other day, and got to the top (around 3500) just in time to see a lesser volcano below us erupt. Wicked. The foods been great, except on the way out, finally seem to be getting around this issue though (won´t go into details). Alcohol has been cheap (oh the temptations) as well as rent. Deffinatley a lot of ´bang for yer buck´ down here. Chillin out at Lake Atitlan for Semana de santa (week long easter celebrations, huge) at a hotel right on the lake for $10 a night. lovin it. Language hasn´t really been a problem, picking it up as we go, and after a weeklong spanish course, Dini has a pretty good grasp. I didn´t retain as much as she did, but am used to being illiterate from previous travells .
I´d keep ramblin on, but have the need for a cold one.
Another update on its way when I can find the time (aka, not thirstin for a beer).
Adios
